ArtsNordica
History
ArtsNordica is a network established with the purpose of providing a platform for dialogue and understanding across different cultures and belief systems, emphasizing human dignity, equality, respect and friendship’. ArtsNordica Network is open for individuals and organizations that support ArtsNordica’s purpose.
We have function as a bridge mainly between Chinese artists, institutions, the sino-scandinavian culturecenter TCG Nordica and it’s Scandinavian countertparts since year 2000. See our projectlist. Year 2002 Hyllie Park folkhögskola and Areopagos employed an International Culture Coordinator with responsibility to develop international art and cultural exchangeprojects between the Nordic countries and TCG Nordica, Kunming , China. Year 2006 Terms of Reference for the network were signed between Ar and HPF.
Vision
Stimulating reflection on human worth as expressed in various art forms
Our tasks are to
* strengthen and support the encounter between the Nordic countries and China/Mekong within art and culture
* cooperate with institutions, galleries, universities, associations and individuals in China/Mekong and the Nordic countries, interested in participating in and supporting the aims of ArtsNordica.
* strengthen and support the network between individual artists and culture workers in the Nordic countries
* participate in a mutual cultural exchange with TCG Nordica, Kunming, Yunnan province in PRO China
* facilitate projects in which parties inside and outside the ArtsNordica network are involved
* facilitate projects where students and young not yet established Chinese and Scandinavian artists are given en opportunity to create and learn through cultural differences
Location
ArtsNordica has its office at Areopagos, Oslo and at the Hyllie Park Folkhögskola (HPF), Malmö. ArtsNordicas International culture coordinator has her office at the Railway Station, Mariannelund, Sweden.
Ownership
Areopagos (AR) and Hyllie Park Folkhögskola (HPF) are responsible for creating and maintaining a platform for ArtsNordica.
Finance
ArtsNordica is financed by the owners of the platform.
Organisation
* HPF and AR appoints members who constitute the Steering Committee. The Steering committee meets normally two times per annum. Their main responsibility is to approve, facilitate and monitor the overall policy and purposes of the project; to receive and approve the annual report, the annual accounting and the plans and the budget for the following year.
* The steering committee elects its own secretary
Secretariat
The HPF functions as the secretariat for the steering committee and handles the accounts and finances.
