1999
Art: Walking through the Red Sea. TCG Nordica’s founder, Anna Mellergård, artist Janeric Johansson, and author Göran Sahlberg complete a six week project together with ten students at Yunnan Arts Institute. The project is a part of the Yunnan International Arts Festival 1999.

Culture exchange: Ten Chinese and ten Swedish youths partake in an exchange between HPF people College and Yunnan Arts Institute.

Poetry and Art: The poet Tomas Tranströmer visits T’café/Gallery for one week. Lectures and poetry recital, as well as an exhibition by artist Jan Persson, “Etchings from Runmarö”.

China’s first international poetry festival is arranged at TCG Nordica in cooperation with Nässjö Poetry Festival and Kunming Municipal City. Invited poets include Pia Tafdrup, Linda Vilhjalmsdottir, Catarina Gripenberg, Eldrid Lunden, Jorgen Gassilewsk, Anna Hallberg, Stig Larsson, Yu Jian, Nu Han, and others.
Sponsor: Nordic Minister Council, Swedish Institute, NoradPoetry Exchange: Young Poetry, consisting of 12 students from Sweden and China. The project is completed in conjunction with the Nordic Poetry Week later also in Malmö.

Sponsor: Areopagos in Norway / TCG NordicaArt: Photo exhibition “ Norway Through Chinese Eyes” is presented at TCG Nordica in April-June. The Norwegian Embassy in Beijing send 4 of China’s best photographers to Norway to capture Norwegian society. During their visit, the Chinese photographers stay with Norwegian families. They are provided a unique chance to experience Norwegian life from the inside. They cover very varied parts of the country, both urban and rural, in the north as well as the south.
Culture: As part of the celebration of Henrik Ibsen, Norwegian writer, TCG Nordica hosts an Ibsen exhibition in cooperation with the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing. The president of the Yunnan Arts Institute, Wu Wei Min, who specializes in Drama, gives a lecture entitled “Ibsen’s Influence on Chinese Female Dramas in the 20th Century”. There is also a theatrical performance during the exhibition time.

The twins cultural center TCG Nordica Sweden establish in Mariannelund.“Chinese Contemporary Art- Identity and Transformation” hold an exhibition at Kalmar Castle in Sweden. 16 Chinese artists participate: Chen Changwei, Chen Qiji, Guo Peng, Lei Yan, Liu Lifen, Liu Deng, Li Ji, Luo Fei, Mao Xuhui, Shen Qin, Sun Guojuan, Tao Jin, Wu Yiqiang, Xue Tao, Zhang Qiongfei, Zhao Guanghui.
