1999

Art: Walking through the Red Sea. TCG Nordica’s founder, Anna Mellergård, artist Janeric Johansson, and author Göran Sahlberg complete a six week project together with ten students at Yunnan Arts Institute. The project is a part of the Yunnan International Arts Festival 1999.

2000

Culture exchange: Ten Chinese and ten Swedish youths partake in an exchange between HPF people College and Yunnan Arts Institute.

Music: Christina Furbacken and Christer Palm (singer and pianist from Malmö Music Institute) take part in the Yunnan International Culture Festival.

2001

Poetry and Art: The poet Tomas Tranströmer visits T’café/Gallery for one week. Lectures and poetry recital, as well as an exhibition by artist Jan Persson, “Etchings from Runmarö”.

Culture exchange: Ten students together with administrative staff from Yunnan Arts Institute visit Sweden. Two weeks exchange with HPF people college. They participate in a Swedish-Chinese performance at the Southern Theatre in Malmö.

Dance: Four dancers from Yunnan Arts Institute take part in an exchange with the Viksjöfors Ballet and the Dance Academy of Stockholm + Viksjöfors.

2003

Dance: Four dancers from Yunnan Arts Institute complete a dance project at TCG Nordica together with dancers from Viksjöfors Ballet and the Dance Academy in Stockholm.

Art: Give me five! Anna Stake, Linn Femström, Johan Karlsson, Johanna Karlsson, and Pontus Raud work together for one month in Chuang Ku’s and present and exhibition at LOFT and TCG Nordica.

Culture Event: Scandinavian Culture Week in Kunming. Dance performances, concerts, and lectures about Nordic poetry, cinema, and drama in cooperation with Yunnan University.

Poetry: Nordic Poetry Week www.pbase.com/kunming/poetry
China’s first international poetry festival is arranged at TCG Nordica in cooperation with Nässjö Poetry Festival and Kunming Municipal City. Invited poets include Pia Tafdrup, Linda Vilhjalmsdottir, Catarina Gripenberg, Eldrid Lunden, Jorgen Gassilewsk, Anna Hallberg, Stig Larsson, Yu Jian, Nu Han, and others.

Poetry Exchange: Young Poetry, consisting of 12 students from Sweden and China. The project is completed in conjunction with the Nordic Poetry Week later also in Malmö.

Music: POING. Norwegian contemporary music with a trio consisting of Frode Haltli, accordion, Haakon Thelin, double bas, and Rolf-Erik Nystroem, saxophone, visit TCG Nordica with concerts and workshops together with Chinese musicians.

Dance: Writing on the Wall. Norwegian-Chinese dance project. Margrete Kvalbein is the initiator and leader of the project which is an interpretation of Göran Tunströms novel “The Christmas Oratoria”.

Art: Five! The exhibition at Örebro Art Hall is presented in cooperation with TCG Nordica. Exhibitors are Shen Qing, Tang Zhi Gang, Liu Jin Hua, Sun Guo Juan, and Wang Ai Ying

Artist in Residence: Swedish artist Dan Fröberg cooperates with Chuang Ku artist Sun Guo Juan and present the exhibition DanSun Planet at TCG Nordica.

Artist in Residence: Sculptor Riitta Liede from Finland works in TCG Nordica’s guest studio for three months, presents the resulting exhibition Letters from Unknown TCG Nordica and holds lectures at Yunnan Arts Institute and Yunnan Wenhua Art Institute.

Art: Artist Janeric Johansson from Sweden is invited to TCG Nordica to work as Gallery Director for a period of nine months. Exhibition Work of Heart displayed at TCG Nordica. Art lectures at several universities in Kunming.

Artists in Residence: Zhang Qiong Fei visits Nordic Water Color Museum from February to April as the artist in residence. In May, she is invited to use Fredrikstad’s guest studio in Norway.

Art: The Log Book Part 2. Exhibition at Uppsala Art Museum February 12 - March 28. Five Chinese artists visit Sweden.

Art: FOLK -05. Art project at Lista Fyr, Norway, in June and July.

Dance: Writing on the Wall. The second phase of the dance project takes place in Oslo and Lista Fyr Gallery, with dancers and musicians from Kunming. The dancer and choreographer Margrete Kvalbein as project leader.

Culture: Minority project. The first phase is in both Sweden and Norway. The Lisu delegation visits institutes; governments; parliaments; museums etc. Performances and reacting activities are presented.

Concerts, workshops, jam sessions, and more at Yunnan Arts Institute and T CG Nordica.

Artists in Residence: Wu Wei visits Nordic Water Color Museum from February to April as the artist in residence. In May he is invited to use Fredrikstad’s guest studio in Norway.

Artists in Residence: Shen Qin and He Li Bing visit Norway Vestfossen gallery in May-June as residence artists. The exhibition is presented together with Tang Zhi Gang.

Art: Photo exhibition “ Norway Through Chinese Eyes” is presented at TCG Nordica in April-June. The Norwegian Embassy in Beijing send 4 of China’s best photographers to Norway to capture Norwegian society. During their visit, the Chinese photographers stay with Norwegian families. They are provided a unique chance to experience Norwegian life from the inside. They cover very varied parts of the country, both urban and rural, in the north as well as the south.

Culture: As part of the celebration of Henrik Ibsen, Norwegian writer, TCG Nordica hosts an Ibsen exhibition in cooperation with the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing. The president of the Yunnan Arts Institute, Wu Wei Min, who specializes in Drama, gives a lecture entitled “Ibsen’s Influence on Chinese Female Dramas in the 20th Century”. There is also a theatrical performance during the exhibition time.

Art: “Contagious Love” art supports HIV Aids, the first part completion of an exhibition in September. There are 35 artists participating.

Music: Danish soprano Marianne G. Nielsen visits TCG Nordica for one month and gives two concerts; Master Classes.

Children Project: “To be a faraway land” is a special activity to memorize Astrid Lindgren, a great Swedish children’s book writer. TCG Nordica organizes an exhibition (August 26 to September 13, 2006), art workshops made by Anita B.Steiner, lectures gave by Cecilia Nilson, discussions, music performances and films at TCG Nordica.

Culture: Minority Culture Exchange second part held in November. The Sami delegation visit Kunming city and the Lisu Municipality County in Yunnan Province. It is completed with an art exhibition and performances.

The twins cultural center TCG Nordica Sweden establish in Mariannelund.

“Chinese Contemporary Art- Identity and Transformation” hold an exhibition at Kalmar Castle in Sweden. 16 Chinese artists participate: Chen Changwei, Chen Qiji, Guo Peng, Lei Yan, Liu Lifen, Liu Deng, Li Ji, Luo Fei, Mao Xuhui, Shen Qin, Sun Guojuan, Tao Jin, Wu Yiqiang, Xue Tao, Zhang Qiongfei, Zhao Guanghui.
