Forward
The year of 2008 is unforgettable in many ways. It brought along many natural disasters. The Olympic games showed the beauty of human power and wisdom. The economic crisis washed away the world’s confidence. All things that can make us feel a mix of excitement and desolation. We realize that life is uncontrollable. Even though, we still keep the good wishes and hope for the future days. Music is a special grace from the creator. It flows without a visible shape, it can wash away worries, please our souls, bring comfort in sadness, and also stimulate our spirits. The most amazing thing about it is that music can cross over the differences of cultural barriers, edifying humans with different languages and religions. In addition, it is a part of human hearts, which are sublime and in the godly beauty above the physical world.
In the spring of 2005, TCG Nordica held a successful “Nordic -Yunnan Jazz/Contemporary music week” (check here plz). It involved 11 excellent musicians from three Nordic countries. They gave many concerts and lectures to the Kunming audiences during a week. As a continuation from the last music week, and in the important year of 2008, TCG Nordica cooperates with Yunnan Art Institute again, and invites 12 excellent musicians from Six Western Countries. Simultaniously a Miao Choir and other local musicians will perform with them on stage. During this week music fans will get many chances to enjoy high quality concerts, lectures and master classes as a result of music exchanges. Through this music week, according to our vision “stimulating reflection on human value as expressed in various Art Forms”, we wish that our hearts and souls will be moved and that people can receive peace and joy. We hope that for a moment we will be able to forget disasters, both those produced by nature and human beings. We give our appreciation to all the participants who have been involved in the preparation period and further facilitation! Special thanks to the teachers of the foreign affairs office, and the music department of Yunnan Arts Institute; teacher Liao Qiyu and students from Yunnan Wen Hua Art Institute, the Miao Choir and the teacher Qiyu who has helped them for a long time. The music week would not be possible without their selfless contributions!

Martin Farstad Borg - guitar. Jo Fougner Skaansar - bass, Andreas Evjen Håkestad - drums
The young jazz trio Legopulver was founded at the music conservatory in Trondheim, Norway in 2002. Since then they have developed high competence within the fields of improvisation and co playing. In 2007 the CD “Legopulver” was released in Norway and Japan. As well as touring in Norway and abroad the band also gives classes in group improvisation and communication.
Passionate and know-how are qualities behind this ban´s music, which is built on simple melodic themes. These egalitarian trio of jazz musicians based in Trondheim, Norway, make music over a wide dynamic range, and their interweaving sound works at the punchiest levels as well as the more poetic passages. The interplay itself is what makes this band contemporary and full of genuine life.
Legopulver, whose members are all in their twenties, is a product of the jazz department at the University in Trondheim (NTNU). Since their student days they have matured into a solid band in command of the trio format. They are all on the verge of becoming professional
musicians, and they are proud to present their debut CD “Legopulver”
