Christmas Dinner and Performance ¦ 24th and 25th

Yes, we know it’s Christmas Time at all! We will celebrate the birth of a child with dinner and music - and we’ll share the joy in a warm atmosphere. Perhaps a Santa or two might turn up?
Scandinavians mainly celebrates Christmas eve, while people most other places in the world open their presents on the 25th. We thought: let’s do both!
Both evenings: Buffet from 6PM and Concert from 8.30 PM

Childrens Exhibition

It is the holiday that so many children cherish. And we celebrate that a child was born! This year TC/G Nordica has a special exhibition during Christmas Time, by the students of three artists: Wu Yan Xi, Wu Yi Qiang and Yan Wen Ping.
Read the poet Yi Hui’s thoughts about the Exhibition:

Some people who believe in the democracy of art, claim “Everyone can be an artist”. If you look at these children’s paintings carefully, you might believe that too. Although most children love painting, they never consider themselves artists. In their mind, painting is a fun thing to do just as another kind of game or way of amusement.

At the same time, painting itself really should be a fun thing to do, it is also a means of free expression; Children’s painting can represent this point. Adult artists still need to look back to their childhood, keep their childishness, and give a salute to all creative children. Go and stand in front of those honest and innocent paintings, contemporary art displays the “emperor’s new dress” in it’s content.

In fact, many children who are born as a “master” of futurism, fauvism or expressionism, of course they are not academic or trained artist (the teachers have no reason to teach them at such an early age). Children’s understanding of beauty often shocks us; the self-awareness of contemporary children also makes us think:
For example some children while tracing the paintings of Van Gogh, even paint the people as there own self-portrait, it seems like they try to challenge the shadow of masters.

People who can take on the job of teaching children to paint, must been keep their own childishness. All the teachers are like grown up children, they love children, they can stay with children easily, they even inspire each other. Not all the children are so lucky. Any genius must depend on the support of family, teachers, organization (including such a place like TC/G Nordica) to offer a stage and opportunity. Today’s children’s painting show might become the first step by some genius, and the deeper meaning of the exhibition is: let all the children get a unforgettable liberating experience from the tough Chinese examination system of children’s education.
