Flutist Christian Studler, Switzerland

Christian Studler studied flute at the University of Music in Zurich/Winterthur. At the age of 19 he continued studies in Paris and Freiburg, Germany with the Professor Aurèle Nicolet. Studler also took Master Classes with J. Galway and M. Moyse in London. He is a prize winner of national and international competitions. At the age of 22, he started to play as the solo flutist in the Symphony Orchestra of St. Gallen, Switzerland and since 1979 he has been playing in the Bern Symphony Orchestra. He has also played in the Tonhalle-Orchestra of Zurich for two years and as the solo flutist in the Festival Orchestra of Lucerne. Studler has worked as the Flute Professor in the Bern Music University since he was 24 years old. As a soloist he has worked with several conductors like Marcello Viotti, Okko Kamu, Gustav Kuhn, Peter Maag, Peter Gülke, Ivan Anguélov and Edmond de Stoutz.
Studler works currently as the solo flutist in the Bern Symphony Orchestra and Professor at the Bern Music University (Hochschule der Künste Bern) in Switzerland.
