瑞典艺术家汤米（Tommy Sveningsson）因为获得2012年瑞典西约特兰省(Västra Götaland)在北欧水彩博物馆的奖学金，受昆明TCG诺地卡画廊邀请来到昆明生活和工作三个月，他于2012年6月8日至9月8日在昆明TCG诺地卡在创库艺术社区的工作室工作。
汤米擅长纸本铅笔绘画，其画面精致入微，层次丰富，带着北欧艺术家特有的干净、精微等特质。他的作品多是关于自然，树木、宇宙等画面反复出现他的作品中，带着童话般的色彩。
在进驻昆明TCG诺地卡画廊即将结束之际，托米将展示他在昆明三个月内所创作的多幅作品，有关于中国的自然、城市文化，也有一些小型的石雕作品。展出的作品所呈现出了一位瑞典艺术家眼中的中国样式。
展览将于2012年8月24日晚上8点在TCG诺地卡二楼画廊空间开幕，欢迎社会各界朋友前来欣赏和交流。
Tommy Sveningsson艺术家自述
在都市的环境里我看到许多穿着不同时代款式解放军迷彩服的人在拼命工作，沿街种植的梧桐树形成和这些人一样的迷彩。于是我开始在一本中国传统折页本上画风景画——一种用墨绘制的新风景，它由不同时代的迷彩图案构成，这些图案像简化了的自然，同时也是一种过往年代的延续。
很多店铺和商铺都在出售散发着光泽的玉石珠宝。我无意中发现了一块石头，这样的石头在公元前6000年前就同中国历史有重要关系。我也曾见过这样的石头，但当我在一个边远的市场上发现它们被以整块的原石并按公斤出售时它们充满了全新的魔力，我想要用它们制造一个能够承载多重含义的日常物件。
高速公路上，墙上，大的石头上和崖壁上，通常有雕刻或喷涂有大号的中国字，它们对与我来说可能很难辨认识别，且可能被涂在墙上也并不是人的本意，但我想它们和涂鸦艺术具有同样的精神。
云南的高黎贡自然保护区生长着野生的杜鹃花树，这些巨大的树只在这个地区生长。在我的家乡只有小灌木的杜鹃花因其花朵的美丽被作为装饰栽在花园或公园。而当这种树生长到25尺高的时候是非常壮丽的，而只有100棵这样的远古巨人还存活着。这是一个关于自然脆弱的提醒，也是对当代人需要关心周围环境的一个提醒。在这个国家存在的崇高的自然是过去多个世纪里人们追求美学和美的源头。如果这种原始的美能够被保存，我们需要对人类生活方式进行唤醒，以及人类环境观的改变。
