卡琳娜是一位芬兰艺术家，生于1968年，现今居住在赫尔辛基。作为进驻艺术家她将在昆明生活五个月，在这段时间里她尝试以不同的材料来诠释一个主题——童话里的公主以一种或多种形象出现。
艺术家自述：我的作品以”中国式风格”为主题，这种源于洛可可时代具历史性的艺术风格意味着：欧洲人渴慕中国是基于对异国情调的幻想。芬兰汉语翻译家 Pertti Nieminen说，对”中国式风格”来说，安徒生的童话《夜莺》就像英国瓷器上的装饰画一样透出极好的信息。
在昆明我播下”中国公主裙”是基于我的欧洲般的幻想，它们是混合了欧洲和中国的元素。他们也是真实的，可穿着的服装。
我的作品包括了不同的媒介，比如：表演，书籍，电影，装置，服饰，但大多为同一主题:旅行的童话公主以一种或其它方式出现。她就像一个西方探险家和帝制主 义者，但具有些温和，且有点好玩的感觉。我试着播下”中国公主裙”是基于当地的口味，希望去符合一个陌生的文化。当你赢得一个国家时，也赢得了自己。播种 在一个陌生的国家和陌生的装扮，在这里我试图进入到陌生的里面……
